In a tale that stretches the boundaries of belief, Grimsby Towns, a former power plant worker, has reemerged in Question Mark after disappearing without a trace last year. Towns, who was also presumed dead after a severe electrical accident at the local power plant three years ago, vanished last year only to return with a story that has captivated Question Mark.
According to Towns, in May of 1948, he fell into an old, abandoned well deep in the Question Mark woods. This would have been a fatal end for many, but for Towns, it was the beginning of a year-long ordeal that he claims was marked by strange and supernatural occurrences. "There was a light down there, in the darkness," Towns recounted, his voice trembling with the weight of his experience. "It wasn't natural. It was like the electricity... it followed me, kept me alive."
While many in the community are intrigued by Towns' tale, others, including local law enforcement, approach his story with skepticism. Police Chief Thomas Bradley offered a veiled critique of Towns' account, hinting at the man's reputation for indulging in alcohol. "Mr. Towns has been known to enjoy his drink a bit too much. While we're all glad he's safe, his story is, well... let's just say it's as murky as a bottle of moonshine at the bottom of that well he's talking about," said Bradley.
While some question the validity of Towns' account, Towns insists that the time he spent in the well changed him, not just physically but spiritually. "I wasn't alone down there," he said. "I can't explain it, but I was meant to come back. For what reason I don’t know? Maybe to warn others? Or to let everyone know something miraculous and strange is happening in those woods?"
