After the sun sets over the quiet streets of Question Mark, Ohio, Bruno Ellis, a dedicated worker from the Department of Streets and Sanitation, takes to his nocturnal duties with a unique approach. Known for his preference to work under the cover of night, Ellis has become a silent yet significant presence in the town.

Ellis, an enigmatic figure, chooses not to use words for communication, instead conveying his thoughts and instructions through drawings and symbols. This unusual method has intrigued and endeared him to the community, adding a layer of mystery to his persona. Billy Evers, a local eleven-year-old said, “One time my cat got stuck up in a tree and Bruno helped me get it down with a ladder. Then he drew a note for me but I didn’t know what it meant.”

While reluctant to discuss his past, Bruno's commitment to his work is evident. He takes great pride in maintaining the cleanliness and order of Question Mark's streets, ensuring that residents wake up to a tidy town every morning. Alongside his dedication to his job, Ellis also harbors a deep affection for his cat, Ajax, who is sometimes seen accompanying him during his nightly rounds.
